BASKETBALL SEASONNNNNN

the other night was nba 2009 tip off. WHAT UP. there's just been way too much baseball lately and i'm so ready for this. i seriously love so many of these new fellas this year (besides blake griffin) and i know it's gonna be a freakin awesome season.

cavaliers and celtics--WASSUP KEVIN GARNETT. so excited he's back and i don't have to see big baby running around the court. it was so good to see the old guys back. but like, i don't really get what's goin on with the new ones on the team--not rasheed but there was definitely a guy who had dreads, pigtailed and braided with a sweatband on. i dont know, that seems a little od to me. anyyyway, celtics are goin on with a start bein the cavs. seriously, shaq is not doing much for that team at all, but i could have told you that when they first wanted him. have fun with that one.

the lakers also played the clippers that night. THANK GOD BLAKE WAS ON THE BENCH BECAUSE I WOULD HAVE VOMITED IF I SAW KOBE WITH A RING AND BLAKE. so first of all, Lord knows i wasn't about to watch this game, but i did see the lakers' new jackets. awesome. let me tell you, it's got all these stars on the back that are supposed to like, tell people that they're good? then theres someone who looks like that to the right. wearing a ring that looks like this. talk about a stupid freakin ring, man. too bad it's not gonna happen AGAIN.

in other, and better news, the magic are making me happy. i'm liking vince carter there for sure, he is the mannnnnn. but shardy needs to come back like, asap cause i miss him. and, stan is freakin awesome. back in the suit and shirt, gettin techs and all that. man, i missed basketball.

GOOD LUCK TONIGHT DERRICK AND FEEL BETTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! <3

Post SeasOOOONNNNN

man, i completely flunked on making any sort of playoff predictions on here. but i can say that i wouldn't have been right. obviously, i was figuring that it would be the Cavs and the Lakers in the Finals. and i really didn't even know that the Magic were that good of a team. but watching LeBron James throughout the playoffs i figured that no one could stop him at all. but then i realized that it's not that anyone needs to stop him because he's basically doing everything for his team, so eventually he's going to run out of whatever it is that he's running on. the Magic pretty much proved that there isn't a player on there team that they don't need, and the Cavs proved something like the opposite. and i think, as far as beating the Lakers, the Magic will be able to do it.
I was pulling for the Nuggets so hard (so much that i don't even care how bad that sentence sounds). but i really thought that it was time for them. i mean, there were a few games and things that happened that i was like, mannnnnn you're not going to beat them that way. unless JR Smith was Smitty, he was just hurling up shots from three point land. Carmello Anthony is a good dude, and after a season of hating Birdman, i was into him in this series. but as most people predicted, the Lakers won. but i'm pretty sure that they lost to the magic when they played them in the regular season. Dwight Howard is too big and too fast not only for Pau Gasol, but certainly for Andrew Bynam. i don't know who the Lakers think is going to guard Turkalo. and Pietrus did a tight job on LeBron James, so Kobe Bryant won't be too much trouble.
Things to watch for in the Finals (especially if you don't even care about basketball, but are forced to watch these games for one reason or another):
-Stan Van Gundy's Huddles
-the amount of times that Kobe Bryant gets pissed off about a call
-whether or not Rafer Alston is going to kiss a ref in the head
-Dwight Howard's pre-introduction garbage ball tossing
-what kind of out-of-place celebs are at the Lakers home games
-how weird looking the Lakers guards are

so, Charles Barkley was the only one to say it, but i'm going to agree with him: Magic in 7.

STAN MY MAN

okay, so all my predictions didn't come true for the playoffs. but i'm not even really feeling bad about it. this years playoffs were really, really crazy close for the most part. i mean, in the east it started from the first round of the bulls and the celtics.

but i guess this should start with the cleveland and orlando, because that was surprising to pretty much everyone. but, this match up made me really, really love the magic (and stan van gundy) and not dig the cavs so much (but still lebron). cause here's the thing: lebron james is THE. MAN. i don't even care what people say, he is. this dude is wild and does things that are not natural at all. but his team is annoying in the fact that they don't do anything and it is just lebron james vs the orlando magic, and that's not cool. so even though i thought that it was the cavs year, when this series actually started, i was rooting for the magic everytime. i love love love stan van gundy. he is the funniest thing, ever. a discheveld mess on the sideline yellllllllling, out of breath and with the shortest suit sleeves. rafer alston is so freakin small and cute, rashard is the mannnn. d-wight has the shoulders of a champion, MIKAEL PIETRUS IS WHATS UP and hes not even wearing kobe's shoes, so you know i like him. and courtney lee is my orlando boyfriend. anyway, i am all about the magic this year, so let's see if charles barkley and i can make it happen.

i called the lakers being in the finals, but whatever. you know, the nuggets really deserved to win that game and the series. how crazy would that be if it was orlando and denver? since this matchup i am in love with chauncy and carmelo. kenyon martin does mad work, and i'll even say i like birdman. that's saying something. and you know, the nuggets definitely had the ability to beat the lakers, and that's really true, even more so when SMITTY emerges. hahhaha, smitty is awesome. they have an aweosme team and they were so freaking close that it bothered me. and every single player on the lakers is a complete mess. you already know how i feel about kobe, but we got derek fisher being small and clay-like, got pau gasol looking hairy and like he just flopped out of the water as some kind of guppie or something, lamar odom can stop eating candy and also stop looking like squidword....i mean, it's bad how fug they are. i got names for all of them.

FINALS TONIGHT, my life comes back. im going with charles barkley on this: ORLANDO MAGIC IN SEVEN. CALL IT AND COUNT IT, STAN VAN GUNDY GOT IT!

Playoff Prediction

got my predictions lined up for you

WEST
1. Lakers and Jazz: um, obviously i hate the lakers, a lot. so, i want the jazz to take this one, but i'm saying that the lakers have this match up...unfortunately.
2.Nuggets and Hornets: i am not really that interested in this too much. i mean, i am, but not really about who wins--i could go either way, personally. chris paul is kinda the man, but so is carmello. but for the end result, i'm going with denver.
3.Spurs and Mavericks: ew...horrible match-up. mavericks need to take this. i can't stand tim duncan.
4. Blazers and Rockets:yao ming is just too much and the rockets have gotten real dumb over time. i'm calling the blazers making a come back--i hope so at least.

EAST
1. Cavs and Pistons: Lord knows the Cavs got this serious 4-0
2.Celts and Bulls:YEAHHHHH ROOKIE OF THE YEAR DERRICK ROSE! i'm proud of my man and his team hangin in there as much as they are and they'll probably win another game, but my celtic playas have this one.
3.Magic and Sixers:D-WIGHT, please. i think orlando can do it.
4. Hawks and Heat: dwade needs to step it up, cause i'm callin the heat to take this one.

WEST
i'm callin the Lakers and Denver in the semi-finals this year. Unfortunately, i'm thinkin that it is unlikely the nuggets will take it all and go to the finals, so i think it's going to be another year with LA in the finals.

EAST
mad good teams in the east and a lot of players that i like. but, obviously the cavs are in the semi-finals easy, and i'm callin that they beat the heat to get it. Boston will beat Orlando and play the Cavs for a spot in the finals buttttttttt, as much as i love the celtics (just not stephon), lebron and mo williams are going to beat them. but it will be okay , PAUL!

2009 FINALS: CAVILERS vs LAKERS and cleveland is taking it all, and i will love every second. i hope the whole series ends with kobe's missed buzzer beater. wait until you see all this come true...

Celtic Fried

Emily's not going to post this, so i may as well do it.
the Celtics played the Cavaliers Sunday evening, and we were both expecting it to be a close run, you know, it being the 1 and 2 spot teams in the East and all. however, the Celtics got rumbled. it wasn't even that close at all, at any point during the game. now, the Celtics still don't have Kevin Garnett and that's something of note, but i think that the problem lies elsewhere: in the people that they have recently picked up before the trade deadline.
Stephon Marbury is playing like straight up crud. i mean, maybe it's the fact that he hasn't really played in some time, and more so had to buy tickets to his own team's games, but even if that is his excuse what are the returning NBA champions doing getting someone with a nasty star tat on their head?
maybe their hoping for a repeat of these good ol days, but c'mon, i don't see Larry Johnson and Alonzo Mourning getting back together.
another great pick is the lanky rastafarian, Mikki Moore. he just ain't right. plus, that kind of looks like a girl's name.
i mean, hopefully having Garnett back for the playoffs will make a difference or something, because it'd be a shame to see the Celtics go to a team like, i don't know, the Pacers.
but LeBron James is unreal.
